2057 - The World
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7582986795752940587&hl=en
elevators to space... every book ever, sent across the globe, in seconds...
the elevator thing might seem a bit far fetched but the data thing does not. resolutions/bitrates/everything will continue upwards (forever). why shouldn't you be able to print a 4x5 foot poster of a pic from your digicam? why should you have a video with less resolution than the screen you are watching it on? why shouldn't your home theatre have 14 speakers?
i will tell you 6 megapixel dslr's cost 8 grand in 2001. now 10 megapixel dslr's are under a thousand. the current going price for 22 megapixels is 7 grand. will it take 6 years for that price to be less than a thousand? i doubt it.

I'm a good girl, honest
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/arts/main.jhtml?xml=/arts/2007/06/28/nosplit/bmcorr128.xml
the article convinced me to listen to the album. as far as i knew, the corrs are celtic pop music. i'm probly wrong, but anyway, this new album by andrea corr called "ten feet high" is good. bono is the executive producer. i'm pretty sure i just heard "i sleep in open graves". short cd, worth checking out.

my movie revues #11
me and you and everyone we know - see, this had the best scene in a movie i've seen all year. found this one after i saw some promo for it on apple.com
knocked up - see, it worked.
district b13 hd - see, awesome action movie. the opening chase in this one kills the casino royale opening chase.
equilibrium hd - see, another awesome action movie. i dunno how i missed it when it came out.
the elephant man hd - see, great classic. the audio was rough but i think that's the way it was intended.
letters from iwo jima hd - see, beautifully shot. superb.
mtv unplugged alicia keys hd - see, not a movie but worth mentioning. i own the dvd but seeing in hd was a whole new experience.

Amy Winehouse - Tears Dry on Their Own
Amy Winehouse's newest Music Video: "Tears Dry on Their Own" Directed by David La Chapelle shot 5-22-07 on Hollywood Blvd. i think i need to see it in hd to really have an opinion about it. it's just so damn small on this screen.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/55772089@N00/405175441/
"Visual results from testing a system of color-swapping particles. Right now particles are attracted to others that they see as good 'customers' - meaning they have excess red, green, or blue to trade. The actual trading system is proving a bit more difficult. Stay tuned... "
i really have no idea what that means but the images are pretty cool. check out the whole set.

mandy moore new album
http://allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:hpfyxzy5ldae
the review gets it right saying this album is adult pop, and that the songs aren't that memorable. "i drink my coffee late at night" seems to be the most memorable line from the album. it is enjoyable though.

brand new rihanna vid. the consensus is that this is not as good as the umbrella vid. some people disagree with the song choice as the single. i like it, but i like breakin dishes more.

a lot of people have strong opinions about celebs turning to photography and it is mostly negative attitudes. personally, i could care less. i think anyone who falls under the category of artist should paint, take photos, make music and make movies along with whatever else. i'm assuming these are new and you can click them to see them at max blogger size.

my movie revues #10
annie hall - see, this is considered a classic and rightfully so. nice and creative.
shooter - pass, this was whatever. typical hollywood sniper conspiracy movie.
two for the money - see, this had the rage shot of al pacino that every film of his has. low rating on imdb but i thought it worked.
reno 911 miami - see, this is great stupid fun. outlandish and funny.
fever pitch - see, drew barrymore plays the role she always plays but the ending was great.
friday after next - pass, the only reason i got past the opening credits was seeing k.d. aubert's name.
black snake moan hd - see, this was a bizarre movie but the fact that it stuck to its own style worked. justin timberlake can't act. stop putting him in movies.

belly - people change
http://www.thestar.com/entertainment/article/225503
so i was trying to find a review of this album last week to post. it's good to see him in the biggest canadian newspaper. if you don't know, belly is doing it big. one of the very few millionaires in canadian urban music which is a small market. he debuted higher than keshia chante (when she came out) who is bigtime in her own way. the media knows how to look at the positive by saying his album debuted at #6 in toronto. "Before me, there was a void in Canadian hip hop and everybody can admit that." him, point blank, alias donmillion. ain't noone else coming with the heat on tv. he's got some great features (fabolous, nina sky)... the kurupt (the star misspells kurupt) track "i'm the man" is insane like a lot of the tracks. fab's verse "I got a degree in flyology" is jokes. the production is top notch with a very full sound for every track. the beat on "people change" is ear candy for real. get your audio game up to appreciate that one. this album and point blank on september 11 is all you're gonna need this year to satisfy your canadian rap content.

there was some debate as to whether these photos were real. all signs point to yes. they were on cnn and afp are hardcore. i will not link to websites that resize your browser. that's why these pics are here instead of a link. almost forgot the caption:
Palestinians run as a rocket falls at them during an Israeli air strike on the Hamas Executive Force building in Nusseirat refugee camp in the centre of the Gaza strip, Friday. Warplanes pounded the Gaza Strip for a ninth day as Palestinians continued to fire rockets into Israel despite a call from Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas for a truce.
